Unleashing the Inner Champion: A Muay Thai Training Regimen Inspired by Saenchai and "The Little Book of Talent" by Daniel Coyle

 Part One

As a lifelong fan of Muay Thai and its greatest fighter, Saenchai, I was excited to learn how I could apply the principles in The Little Book of Talent 52 Tips for Improving Your Skills by Daniel Coyle to my own training. In this blog, I want to share with you the skills and tips I will be focusing on in the first 20 hours of my training.

 Deep Practice

The first skill I will be implementing is the idea of "Deep Practice." This means breaking down complex skills into smaller, manageable parts and focusing on each one individually. For example, instead of trying to perfect a full combination in one session, I will focus on perfecting each strike and movement individually.

 Trying New Things

Another important skill I will be working on is "Trying New Things." This means stepping outside of my comfort zone and trying new techniques and drills to expand my skill set. This will not only improve my overall ability but also keep my training fresh and exciting.

 Feedback

Next, I will be focusing on "Feedback." This means actively seeking out constructive criticism and using it to improve my performance. I will be working with my coach to identify areas of improvement and setting specific, measurable goals for each session.

 Emulating the Greats

Finally, I will be putting emphasis on "Emulating the Greats." This means studying the techniques and habits of the best fighters and attempting to incorporate them into my own training. By watching footage of Saenchai and other top fighters, I hope to gain insight into their training and mental approach to the sport.

By incorporating these skills and tips into my training, I am confident that I will see significant improvements in my ability and overall performance. Stay tuned for updates on my progress and feel free to share your own experiences and tips in the comments! Also, check out part 2 Unleashing the Inner Champion.
